We have been having such a great time that it is hard to believe that we have been operating for five years! End 68 Hours of Hunger sent out our first 19 bags of food the first week of October, 2011, and today we are located in seven states, with 39 programs feeding more than 2000 children weekly!
Certainly an event worth celebrating, so we did! We held a fifth anniversary dinner along with our regularly scheduled Program Coordinator meeting, and recognized our longest serving coordinators, Pauli Rines, Kris Lynes and Dave Gooch of the Kittery Program, thanked our Board Members (four attending were Monte Bohanan, Keith Launchbury, Mark Monson Alley, and Jeni Mosca), had an excellent dinner prepared by Chef Michael’s, and celebrated our excellent successes. We also shared the complexities of getting enough volunteers, so if you are looking for somewhere to do meaningful volunteer work, let us know!
Thank you to St. John’s United Methodist Church for hosting us, and the volunteers who helped set up, serve, and clean up, Patrick and Rita Murphy, Warren Hess and Jackie Bast. You are all fabulous!
