Rockingham Choral Society will partner with End 68 Hours of Hunger to present the Choral Society’s Spring concert, Spotlight on Broadway. The Society, under the direction of Andrew Gaydos and accompanied by Jeannie Goodwin, will present musical memories of Broadway including Porgy and Bess, Carousel, West Side Story, Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables and more. This promises to be a fun and lively concert while supporting a wonderful local program, End 68 Hours of Hunger-Exeter. Performances are Saturday, May 6th, 7:30 p.m. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 22 Fox Run Rd., Newington, NH; Sunday, May 7th, 3:00 p.m. at The Congregational Church, 7 Front St., Exeter, NH and Tuesday, May 9th, 7:30 p.m. at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church, 187 East Rd., Hampstead, NH. General Admission is $13.00 in advance, ($16.00 at the door); Seniors and Students $11.00 in advance, ($16.00 at the door); and children under 12 free. $1.00 from every ticket goes directly to End 68 Hours of Hunger.
End 68 Hours of Hunger is a private, not-for-profit, effort to confront the 68 hours of hunger that some school children experience between the free lunch they receive on Friday and the free breakfast they receive on Monday morning. End 68 provides these children with a backpack full of food every weekend to help meet their nutritional needs. There will be a container at each concert for food donations. Suggested food donations are: tuna, granola bars, peanut butter and jelly (no glass please).
