End 68 Hours of Hunger Dedicates New Building

on the grounds of St. John’s UMC, 28 Cataract Avenue, Dover, NH.

Please join us on Saturday, May 11, between 8 and 4 for our open house celebrating the “completion” of our new Dover facility dedicated to Christine Skidds, one of our first advocates and team leaders who died in September 2012.The dedication ceremony will be at 8:00 promptly, and the rest of the day will include a silent auction from 9 am to 12 pm where we are auctioning off a diamond ring, an iPad, a Kindle Fire, some terrific jewelry, tickets to the July 4th Red Sox game, and other wonderful items.We will have activities for children including face painting, a bouncy castle, food for sale, and certificates in honor of your mother, mother in law, wife or other favorite mother!!Please bring food donations to kick start the program.

End 68 Hours of Hunger is building a building for the Dover program on the site of St. John’s United Methodist Church, 28 Cataract Avenue, Dover, NH. For directions, click.

Construction is scheduled for April 18-20 and April 24-27. While Gilbane Construction and Habitat for Humanity will be assisting, we still need volunteers!

Those with building experience would be particularly welcome.

Those without can help or can bring snacks.

Times: 8:00 to 4:00 week days. Saturdays 8:00 – 3:00.

Yoga Mala to Benefit End 68 Hours of Hunger

Seacoast Power Yoga (109 Water Street, Exeter, NH, 603.583.2303, will host a mala, a practice of 108 Sun Salutations, on Saturday, April 6th, from 8-11am. The practice is for all levels of experience and abilities will be lead by several Seacoast Power Yoga instructors. A minimum requested donation of $25 is gratefully appreciated. All proceeds will fund the not for profit organization End 68 Hour of Hunger that purchases food for local children facing food insecurity. The studio will also be accepting plastic jars of peanut butter and jelly up until the day of the event. Get Directions.

Tara Whitney, owner of Seacoast Power Yoga, comments “there are children in our community that are hungry. It’s heartbreaking. End 68 Hour of Hunger is filing a great need and I’m so pleased that we have an opportunity to support them and the children here in the Exeter area that need our support”. The mission of End 68 Hours of Hunger is to meet the need for food that some local children experience between the 68 hours between the free lunch they receive in school of Friday afternoon and the free breakfast they receive in school on Monday morning. The organization is strictly volunteer based and 100% of every dollar contributed goes directly to purchase food, which is packed in backpacks and delivered to participating schools each week.
